We look at reviews for the books we purchase, but there are books that we haven't read so if you find
a book that you feel is inappropriate or don't want your child to read, you can reach me via email.
Please NOTE that all of A-P's School libraries do have an Alert System so if you do not want your child to read the book,
we can put an alert the system so when your child checks out a book, the system will notify the librarian.
You may also Complete the Request To Prohibit A Student From Accessing Specific Instructional & Library Materials Form
If you want to challenge a book, you may communicate with me or Principal Brian Buseman.
NOTE: Alexander Researcher, the card catalog, is available online and you can search Researcher to look for any library resource.
* Documents referencing instructional and library materials can be viewed under the "bell" notifications on A-P School's District
Website*
The library philosophy is based on Intellectual Freedom which is the right of every individual to both seek and receive information from all points of view without restriction. Intellectual Freedom allows a person to read a book and if they don't like it, they can return the book to the shelf or just don't read it, but also allows someone else who wants to read that book the freedom to do so. Intellectual Freedom provides free access to all expressions of ideas .
If you have a question about a library resource such as a book and would like to bring to our attention,
please email Mrs. Flanigan: @ [email protected].
You may also contact the library associates on staff:
Jess Steege ([email protected]) or
Carla Amiling ([email protected]).
